Three Easy Pieces
The weather is finally warming up. After the coldest February in years and a winter that dragged on way too long (it even snowed in April), it’s finally over and spring has officially sprung. It’s been months and months of worrying about how many layers to wear, what pants would work simultaneously with my boots and my long johns, and if my warmest scarf/hat would match my jacket. Now, I just want to dress simple.
Dressing in the winter is such a hassle. You really have to dress twice, the first outfit for indoors, and then layer another outfit over that just to get from one place to another. It can be a lot of fun, but at the end of a long season it’s exhausting. I just want to get dressed once! So when the sun starts to shine and it’s warm enough to go outside with a light a jacket and one pair of socks, I lose a little bit of enthusiasm when it comes to picking an outfit. I want it to be as easy as possible.
This slump normally lasts a week or two. Of course I still get excited about the thoughts of a new spring wardrobe and doing a bit of shopping for the new summer trends, but when it actually comes to the act of picking out an outfit and putting clothes on… I just don’t want to think that hard. So, I grab a classic: a light tee, slacks and loafers. They make an easy spring outfit; for both aesthetics and choice. It might be why it’s so many men’s go to outfit and that’s probably why most of them get ready faster than ‘us’. So, while my style-mojo is still low and recuperating from the colder months I will be lazy and continue to reach for my ‘easy outfit.’
