On the way home from Newfoundland we stopped off in the beautiful city of Montreal. I had been there before, but not for a simple vacation. It was nice to just have nothing to do but eat, drink and shop for a couple of days. I couldn’t resist positing a photo diary of all the lovely sights.
I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves, but the architecture in this city is unlike anywhere else I’ve been to in Canada. We enjoyed walking around the city, stopping into little places for ‘un verre du vin,’ checking out the vintage shops (the two showed above are Kitsch’n Swell & Rokokonut and La Gaillarde). But, we really enjoyed the food.
I didn’t take any photos, too busy devouring, but we were very impressed with the vegan scene. Impressed, but not surprised. A city that prides itself with being hip and trendy had to have a strong and growing vegetarian culture. Our favourites were Lola Rosa’s, La Lumiere du Mile End, Aux Vivres and Yuan Végétarien.
