Five posts, 1 trend: sports luxe. This is the first in a series of five about my new uniform. Any trend that allows you to rock sweat pants and leggings and still look on point is more than ok with me. This look has various degrees, you can achieve it by simply putting on a pair of sneakers with your normal ensemble, or go full out like you just left a very trendy gym.
The best way I can describe it is by using the Spice Girls. Imagine Sporty Spice forgot her luggage and only had what she was wearing. No problem, she can rock what she’s wearing or mix it with something from one of the other four girls. So maybe she keeps on her track pants and borrows a halter top from Geri or Mel B, or she keeps her sports jacket and throws it on over one of Posh’s dresses, or borrows a skirt and platform sneakers from Emma to pair with her t-shirt. As long as you have at least one piece of clothing from Sporty’s wardrobe feel free to throw anything else into the mix.
I was always Sporty Spice when I was a kid and not much has changed. So all of my outfits will probably be more sports and less luxe but here’s the first one. This sports bra is my new favourite thing. I love the rose details and the pink and black band around the bottom, it adds a touch of softness to the outfit plus it matches my hair. I’m not normally a huge fan of leggings but these black ones with the mesh detail caught my eye and they are comfy as hell. I’m not sure what the etiquette of mixing sports brands in one outfit is (I’m wearing Nike shoes and an ADIDAS sports bra) but I’m going to do it anyway. I threw on this olive anorak jacket to make the outfit more street/restaurant/public-place-that-isn’t-a-gym friendly. And while I never actually broke a sweat in the outfit, I loved the fact that I could of.
