Drop Dead Fred Perry

I don’t often mention brands on this blog but today I’m going to make an exception for Fred Perry. I like Fred Perry. This Fred Perry polo is the only piece of clothing I own from Fred Perry, but I would like to eventually buy more Fred Perry. I like that Fred Perry is British, edgy, seemingly anti-preppy. I could go on about Fred Perry but I think these people some-up Fred Perry better than I could.

Paul Weller – “Fred Perry was a great part of my youth.”

Terry Hall – “My eldest sister was a mod, my middle sister was a skinhead and I was a mini skinhead from the age of 10. So there was a lot of Fred Perry on the washing line.”

John Peel – “My first recollection of Fred Perry was stealing my brother’s navy polo shirt from washing line for a big night out.”

Norman Cook – “It’s the only brand of clothing that I have worn consistently throughout my life.”

Rankin – “I first wore Fred Perry when I was 14. I was influenced by The Specials, Weller, and Nine Below Zero. All these brands were dressed in Fred Perry but I remember the white pique polo as being the most sought after piece…white was cool, very cool.”

Damon Gough – “The great thing about Fred Perry is it’s a very positive brand. Everybody loves Fred Perry.”
